Learn Basic Eyelid Sculpting: The Process of Making & Handling Errors
General Procedure When Cosmetic Sculpting:
Before sculpting:
- Do a good job of consulting, understand the health status and preferences of customers. What diseases does the client have? Is the scar physically convex? Looking closely at the sculpture, is there any inflammation, swelling, external injury or scar?
- Advise customers on the effectiveness of cosmetic sculpting. Things to note before carving eyelids, symptoms that may appear during and after sculpting so that guests can prepare psychologically
- Do a good job of shaping, choose colors that match the client's skin tone. Should consult more opinions of guests but not arbitrarily comply with unreasonable requests of guests but should not be too principled.
Sculpting steps:
Step 1: After shaping the eyelid shape and the customer was satisfied. Put the guest on the bed, take the hair bundle to wrap the hair neatly, cover the guest with a blanket.
Step 2: Conduct anesthesia for the client, note that each side is anesthetized to keep the numbing during the process. Incubate for about 12-17 minutes depending on how thin or thick the client's skin is. Pay attention to the skin around the numbing area, if it is red, it is already numb, you must remove the anesthetic and carry out sculpting, if left for too long, the client's eyelids will be easily swollen and painful when doing.
Step 3: Prepare sculpting tools: cover stainless steel tray, sterilize damp cotton wool, prepare rings, ink, ink mixer, sharp toothpick, gloves, mask, turn on the light.

After the engraving is complete, let the customer sit up, check that the shape and contour of the eyelids are even. If the eyelids are ready, we immediately drop 5-6 drops of salt water to clean the eyes, then use a damp cotton swab to clean and then apply tetracycline to lock the color and fight inflammation and swelling. Instruct customers to take care after sculpting: Apply tetracycline continuously for 3 days - if you don't apply the eyelid line, the fibers will be broken, do not peel, avoid water for 3 days. After 3 days, wash with normal water, use a cotton ball dipped in water to cover the eyelid line to quickly peel off.
HOW TO DO IT:
-
Support Tools
(carving knife handle, blade, engraving ink, anesthetic, cotton wool, ...)
The thin blade is used to sculpt 2 plugs with different functions. A plug helps you focus and a pen helps push the ink.
- Sculpting kit includes a slim blade for flexible attachment to 2 sculpting pen tips:
- A pen with a dedicated blade tip for key strokes
- A pen tip with a design that helps the blade push the ink into the skin easily without hurting or losing ink repeatedly.
2. Engraving Ink Colors
(black, dark brown, blue treatment ink, red process ink)
So that the eyelids do not turn green: Go straight to jet black ink (if it's Queen ink)
If the ink is crystal, you must add 1 drop of blue treatment ink with the same color as betel nut to 6 drops of black ink (ratio 1:6)
To treat red eyelid color: We will sculpt with red treatment ink directly on the red eyelid, then use black to sculpt over the treated part until the eyelid is black again.
3. Implementation Process:
Step 1: Examination and consultation: Cosmetologists help customers understand how to perform and choose eyelid colors to suit the face and skin tone.
Step 2: Clean the eyelid area and numb the area. Incubation for 12-17 minutes depending on how thin or thick the client's skin is
Step 3: Sculpting: Must follow the contour of the eyelid frame as the eyelid mold has drawn.
- Create an eyelid frame from the middle to the tail so that it matches the shape of the eyelid that has just been drawn. Then, move the frame back to the head with the same force.
- Next, you carve the empty skin inside the eyelid frame.
- Use the diagonal carving knife to push the ink into the skin in the direction from the tail to the tip of the eyelid so that the eyelid is jet black and glossy, there is no blank skin in the frame.
Step 4: Use a sprayer with needle 1 to spray one last time for a glossy black eyelid line as if you had applied vaseline, then stop.

Then use a cold ultrasound machine or artificial ice to cover the swollen eyelids for about 3-5 minutes for the blood capillaries to contract so that the ink does not smudge.
If the first eyelid is edematous and smeared, after applying cold, we use a short needle to inject a thin line to the eyelids and sculpt thin.
Then use the lowest energy laser eraser
Minimize wiping of eyelids
Step 4: Clean the eyelid area just sculpted, we immediately drop 5-6 drops of saline to clean the eyes, then use a damp cotton swab to clean and then apply tetracycline to lock the color and anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling.
Manipulation:
- Install the blade at an angle of 25 degrees to the handle and the tip of the blade facing up
- Hold the knife firmly, with the other hand, use 2 thumbs and index fingers to slightly stretch the straight skin, so that the engraving is smooth and even, the ink penetrates the skin more easily.
- The force of the right hand is decisive, the wrist is relaxed, the tip of the knife is about 0.5mm deep into the skin, the walking speed is slow and the force is light and moderate, creating a smooth and sharp eyelid.
- When making skin incisions, be careful: cut to where the ink must penetrate there, so the new lines are clear and beautiful.
- Check if the eyelid has eaten ink by lightly marking the engraving, if there is no ink or the color is still light, use a diagonal knife to carve in the opposite direction. Then use the tip of a toothpick to take an appropriate amount of ink and spread it horizontally across the contour of the eyelid to allow the ink to absorb evenly. Next, use a cotton ball to wipe it over to see if the color has been eaten evenly, if not, you will do the same again.
